Which languages are supported?

  • Japanese, English, British English, French, Canadian French, German, and Traditional Chinese are supported. You can change the language setting in the PULSENSE View app or the web portal. If you change the language in the app or portal, the language on the PS-500 will automatically change to the same language.
  • [Using a smartphone]
    Please connect the device to the smartphone and set it up
    1. Tap Settings (wrench mark) > System Settings > Language
    2. Tap the language you wish to set
    3. Tap the arrow in the upper right of the screen
    4. Tap the wrench mark in the upper right of the screen
    5. Please wait until the transmitting animation disappears
    6. Pressing the A or B button on the device will change the set language to the selected language

    [Using a PC]
    1. Please open the web application and log in
    2. Click Settings (wrench mark) > System Settings > Language
    3. Click on the preferred language and click “Finish”
    4. Click “Apply” at the bottom of the screen
    5. Set the device into the cradle and connect it to the PC
    6. After confirming that the web app opens, remove the device and the set language will change to the selected language

Can I use the Pulsense device without a smartphone?

  • You’ll need a smartphone to use the PS-100. You do not need a smartphone to use the PS-500. You can use the PC Uploader software (Windows only) to upload data to the PULSENSE Viewweb portal.

What size wristbands are available?

  • The PS-100 is available in S/M (135 to 160mm) and M/L (150 to 210mm) sizes. The PS-500 will fit a wrist circumference of 140 to 190mm.

Is there any activity the Pulsense device cannot monitor?

  • Detecting a pulse may be difficult when you lift your arms above your head, grip something tightly, or exercise vigorously.
    Note: Do not wear the device when you swim. The device is water resistant to splashes such as rain or when you wash your hands, but water from a tap or spigot may have enough pressure to compromise the water resistant feature. Do not use it where water pressure changes rapidly.

Can I use my Pulsense device on a plane?

  • Communication between your Pulsense device and your smartphone should be disabled on a plane. See below for instructions.
    PS-500
    1. ①Tap the watch face twice.
    2. ②Press the B button until you see the System menu, then press the A button.
    3. ③Press the B button until you see Power off, then press the A button. When you see Run? press the A button. The device will turn off.

    Note: To switch on your PS-500, press the A button. The screen will come on.

    PS-100
    1. ①Remove the Pulsense device from your wrist. The blue and orange LEDs should blink at opposite ends on the band. If they don’t, expose the pulse sensor on the back of the band to strong light or sunlight.
    2. ②Tap the LED plate until the LEDs light up in the sequence shown below.

      When you see the pattern above, the device is in Airplane Mode.
      You can confirm the PS-100 is in Airplane Mode by tapping it. Tap it once, if it displays the pattern shown below, it’s in Airplane mode.

      Note: To disable Airplane Mode, tap your PS-100 until the pattern shown above is no longer displayed.

Can I take the device on to a plane?

  • When connected to a smartphone, this emits a signal, so it cannot be carried with you.
    Please follow the operations below to stop the signal.

    [PS-500]
    To stop signal:
    1. Tap the device twice to display the menu screen
    2. Press the B button twice, and press the A button after “System” is displayed
    3. Again, press the B button twice, and press the A button after “Turn Off” is displayed
    4. Press A after “Would you like to turn off the device?” is displayed
    5. Once the device is off, the LCD will turn off
    To turn signal back on:
    1. Press the A button
    2. When the device is turned on, the LCD will turn on
    3. With the smartphone on, the signal will automatically be transmitted.

    [PS-100]
    To stop signal:
    1. Remove the device from the arm
    2. Please confirm that both LEDs (1 blue and 1 orange) are blinking
    In the case that the LEDs are not blinking, please move the device so that sunlight or fluorescent light hits the sensor on the back side (where there is green light) of the body
    3. Please tap the device body in succession
    4. The blue LED will blink in order, as if scrolling
    To turn signal back on:
    1. Please tap the device body in succession
    2. The blue LED will blink in order, as if scrolling
    3. With the smartphone on, the signal will automatically be transmitted.
  • This device is equipped with wireless transmission functionality (Bluetooth) and emits electromagnetic signals during operation.
    When you are in a location in which wireless transmission is restricted, such as an aircraft or a hospital, please follow all instructions given by personnel in the location (e.g. announcements by airline crew).

In what environments can I use this device?

  • The unit can be used in environments with a temperature between -5°C and +40°C (between approximately +23°F and +104°F).
    However, when used in cold environments, your blood flow may decrease, making it difficult to measure your pulse rate accurately.
    Please use the device while you feel warm.

What is the range of pulse rates that the device can measure?

  • The device can measure pulse rates between 28 and 240 beats per minute.

What is the lifespan of the battery?

  • As the device uses rechargeable batteries, the battery's lifespan depends on usage conditions (such as the number and duration of charges). With normal usage, the battery is expected to for approximately 3 years.
    To avoid degradation of the battery, please charge the device at least once every 6 months even if the device has not been used for a long time.
