Can I change the time format on the PS-500?
Yes. You can change it in the PULSENSE View app. To change it, open the app, tap Environment, then switch the 24-Hour Time setting.
How to update the firmware
【Using a smartphone】
To carry out this process, your device must be paired with your smartphone.
① Tap the spanner icon in the top-left-hand corner of the Pulsense View app on your smartphone.
② Tap "Device settings."
③ Scroll down and tap "Update firmware."
④ Place your device in its charging cradle.
※1:An error is displayed if your device is not in charging mode.
⑤ Tap "Start" to begin the update.
※2:The update takes around 15 minutes. Please do not remove the device from its cradle until the process has finished.
※3:The blue LEDs will light up in order when the update data has finished downloading to the device.
⑥ When the update is complete, the message "The firmware has been updated" will be shown on your smartphone.
【Using a PC】
You can update the PS-500 from a PC.
To carry out the process, install the PS Uploader software and log in.
① Place your device in its charging cable and connect it to your PC's USB port.
② Right-click the Pulsense View icon in the system tray and click on "Main menu."
※1:The Pulsense View window will be displayed.
③ Click on "Update firmware" in the new window.
※2:Please do not remove the device from its cradle until the process has finished.
※3:The blue LEDs will light up in order when the update data has finished downloading to the device.
④ When the update is complete, the message "The firmware has been updated" will be shown on the screen.
How do I determine the firmware version of my Pulsense device?
To see the version, open the PULSENSE View app, tap, then tap Device settings. The version will appear at the bottom of the screen. Note: To return to the main screen, tap, then select your user name.
With the PS-500, you can also see the version on the screen.
①Tap the watch face twice.
②Press the B button until you see the System menu, then press the A button.
③Press the B button until you see Version, then press the A button. The version is displayed.
Can I adjust the strength of the vibration on my Pulsense device?
No. The vibration strength cannot be changed. However, you can turn it off in the PULSENSE View app or the web portal.
My Pulsense device doesn’t always vibrate when I change zones. Why?
Your Pulsense device needs to detect movement to vibrate. If you’re not moving when you move into a different zone, the Pulsense device may not vibrate.
Can I change the LEDs’ brightness?
No. They cannot be changed. However, you can power them off in the PULSENSE View app. To power them off, open the app, tap, tap Device settings, tap LED, then tap Off. Note: To return to the main screen, tap, then select your user name.
My Pulsense device does not respond when I tap it. What should I do?
Try the following:
Make sure you tap the watch face (PS-500) or LED plate (PS-100) firmly.
Make sure the battery is charged. Check the back of the watch or band. The green pulse sensor light will be on if the battery is charged. With the PS-500, press the A button to see the pulse sensor light.
If the steps above do not help, contact Epson support.
My Pulsense device does not appear to power on. What should I do?
Make sure the device is fully charged. If that does not help, contact Epson support.
How do I enable email, phone or calendar notifications on my Pulsense device?
Open the PULSENSE View app, tap, then tap Device settings. Scroll to the SMART PHONE LINK section, then turn on the settings. To return to the main screen, tap, then select your user name.
Note: Your Pulsense device must be connected with a Bluetooth connection to your smartphone to receive notifications.
I received an email or phone notification, but there was no new email or phone call on my smartphone. Why does this happen?
If you don’t check a new email or phone call on your smartphone, your Pulsense device will notify you each time a Bluetooth connection is made with your smartphone.
How do I set the time?
The time has to be set from a smartphone app or a PC.
You cannot set the time from the device.
If the time is offset immediately after purchase, or becomes offset while using, you can change to the current time by following the steps below.
【Fixing the time from a smartphone】
※Please execute after pairing with a smartphone.
① Tap the PULSENSE View icon.Synchronization will begin immediately.
② When the synchronization is complete, the time will be changed to the current time.
If the sync does not begin automatically, please perform the following steps.
a)Flick real time HR at the time portion of the screen.
b)Tap the sync button at the top right hand corner of the meter screen.
c)Once synchronization has completed, the current time will be set.
【Fixing the time from a PC (PS-500)】
※Please execute after you have installed and logged into PS Uploader.
① Set the PS-500 in the cradle and connect to a PC with a USB cable.
② When you launch the web browser, the current time will be set.
Can I set an alarm on my Pulsense device?
Yes. You can set a wake-up alarm that vibrates (there is no sound). To set the alarm, open the PULSENSE View app or the web portal. Select, then select Device settings. Set the time for the Wake-up alarm. When you set the time, you can also set a window of time for the alarm to alert you. For example, if you set the alarm for 7AM with a 30-minute window, Pulsense’s alarm will try and wake you at the optimal time. Note: To return to the main screen, tap, then select your user name.
How does my Pulsense device measure steps and distance when I ride a bike?
When you walk, run, or ride a bike, the Pulsense device will use the movement of your arms to detect a step. However, when you ride a bike, it may also count steps if it detects vibrations from the road.
The distance you travel is calculated based on your stride and the number of steps you take. When you ride a bike, there is no stride, so the calculation may not be accurate.
Can I share my activity or progress with friends?
Yes. You can use the PULSENSE View app or the web portal to share your data on Facebook or Twitter. In the app, tap to post your data. In the portal, select the Facebook or Twitter icon.
Uploader menu does not appear
If the PS uploader is not installed. Please install the uploader. (See User's Guide)
Select the PS Uploader icon contained in the task tray, right-click. I want to select the main menu.
My PS-500 displays the message Pressure Error. What should I do?
Makes sure the Pulsense device is worn snugly around your wrist to collect more accurate heart rate data. This may cause a slight impression on the wrist. Adjust the band for the comfort and performance you choose. Make sure the Pulsense device does not touch your ulna bone.

Make sure the Pulsense device is worn snugly around your wrist to collect more accurate heart rate data. This may cause a slight impression on the wrist. What does the icon indicate on my PS-500?
It indicates that the vibration alert is on.
What do the icons indicate on my PS-500?

[Heart Rate] The heart icon appears when your heart rate is detected. The number beside the icon is your heart rate.
[Vibrate] The vibrate icon appears when the vibration alert is on.
[Bluetooth] The Bluetooth icon appears when the PS-500 is paired with your mobile device.
[Battery Level] The battery icon indicates the how much charge remains on the PS-500's battery.
The LEDs on my new Pulsense device are all off. What should I do?
Charge your device with its charging cradle. Your Pulsense device needs an initial charge before you can use it.
Which mobile devices does the PULSENSE View app support?
The following mobile devices are supported:
iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 7.1 or later
Note: Your Pulsense product pairs only with devices that use Bluetooth Smart (Bluetooth 4.0). Other devices are not supported.
My new PS-500 is blank. What should I do?
Charge your device with its charging cradle. Your Pulsense device needs an initial charge before you can use it.
The installation completion screen for PS Uploader is not displayed
If only the screens other than the installation completion screen are displayed
When it has finished reading in PS Uploader, it displays two screens.
When displaying the screen, it may become hidden behind other screens.
