How do you check how much charge is left on the battery?

  • You can check it in the PULSENSE View app. To check it, open the app, tap, then tap Device settings. A battery icon will display the remaining charge.
    • ・Full equals 20 to 36 hours.
    • ・Two blocks equal 12 to 20 hours.
    • ・One block equals 3 to 12 hours.
    • ・Empty equals 0 to 3 hours.
    To return to the main screen, tap, then select your user name.
  • With the PS-500, you can also check it on the watch’s screen; a battery icon appears on the screen.
    Note: Your device signals when it needs to be charged. Then you have approximately one hour before the device shuts down, it will vibrate, and an orange LED will flash every four seconds.

My Pulsense device does not appear to charge when it's placed in the charging cradle. What should I do?

Try the following:

  • Make sure your Pulsense device is seated in the charging cradle properly. The orange LED should light while the device is charging. Charging is complete when the blue LED is on.
  • If your Pulsense device is the PS-500, make sure it’s inserted in the charging cradle with the charge terminals facing up and the display facing outward.
  • Make sure the charging terminals on your Pulsense device are clean. You can clean them with a damp cotton swab but make sure the terminals are not wet before you place your device in its charging cradle.
  • Make sure the USB port on you PC or hub will support device charging.

If the recommendations above do not help, contact Epson support.

The blue LED on my Pulsense device indicates a full charge, but the PULSENSE View app does not indicate the same. What should I do?

Try the following:

  • Refresh the PULSENSE View battery level screen. To refresh the screen, change to a different screen in the app, then return to the battery level screen.
  • Make sure the charging terminals on your Pulsense device are clean. You can clean them with a damp cotton swab, but make sure the terminals are not wet before you place your device into its charging cradle. If that does not help, contact Epson support.

How long does it take to charge the Pulsense device?

  • It takes approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours for the PS-500 and 1.5 to 2.5 hours for the PS-100.
    Note: The charge time will depend on whether any charge is left on the battery when you start charging.

  • Caution: Do not attach the charging cradle when the PS-500 is wet. If the PS-500 is wet, wipe it with a damp cloth, remove the moisture with a towel, then let it air dry before attaching the charging cradle.
    1. ①Open the charging cradle and insert the PS-500 as shown.

    2. ②Insert the USB plug into a power source. You can use:
      • ・Computer (using a free USB port)
      • ・Optional USB AC Adapter (part number SFAC04)

      Note: A standard USB data cable cannot be used.

The orange LED lights up when your PS-500 is connected correctly. Charging is complete when the blue LED is lit.

PS-100
  • Caution: Do not attach the charging cradle when the PS-100 is wet. If the PS-100 is wet, wipe it with a damp cloth, remove the moisture with a towel, then let it air dry before attaching the charging cradle.
    1. ①Center the PS-100 under the large tab, then press down until it clicks into place.

    2. ②Insert the USB plug into a power source. You can use:
      • ・Computer (USB is for charging only, not for data transfer)
      • ・Optional USB AC Adapter (part number SFAC04)

      Note: A standard USB data cable cannot be used.

    The orange LED lights up when your PS-100 is connected correctly. Charging is complete when the blue LED is lit.

    To remove your PS-100 from the charging cradle, press the small tab down and push the PS-100 out from the back.

How long can I use the Pulsense device before I need to charge it?

  • It can be used for about 36 hours. However, the time will depend on operating conditions.

How long is the battery life of the Pulsense device?

  • The life of the built-in rechargeable battery is 3 years. However, this depends on operating conditions. To optimize the battery life, make sure you charge your Pulsense device at least once every 6 months, even if you have not used it for a long time.

How can I extend the battery's charge on my PS-500?

  • You can turn off the heart rate monitor on the PS-500. This will extend the charge by a couple of hours. To turn it off, press the A button twice.
